The Kensington Falls Church is honored to partner with AARP Virginia and Insight Memory Care Center to present this thoughtfully curated Caregiver Book Club Meet & Greet featuring Scott Rose, Author of We Danced: Our Story of Love & Dementia. Join us for this complimentary, open discussion to learn about the dementia journey from a care partner’s perspective.
We Danced is a loving and thoughtfully written tribute to Scott’s late wife, Maureen, who passed away from Frontotemporal Dementia. The details of her journey with FTD and the author’s experiences as a care partner are presented in a manner that is truly illustrative of his devotion to her. The ways in which they continued to celebrate life after her diagnosis and the tips shared are valuable and beautiful insights for those living with dementia and their care partners.
Listen in as Scott guides you through selected excerpts and ask your top caregiver questions in a welcoming, intimate setting. You will not only benefit from his wide-ranging wisdom and experience, but also connect with other caregivers who are on similar journeys! While you’re here, enjoy a delicious autumn spread of sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres made with love by Executive Chef Daniel Powers.

Scott Rose was raised outside of Portland, Oregon, where he still resides. He spent his career planning and managing the design and construction of schools and spoke in regional, state, and national venues. His greatest joy was his marriage to Maureen. They traveled, loved, and danced their entire marriage. Scott cared for Maureen throughout her illness. He contributes to the social media site for the Association for FTD and co-facilitates a caregiver support group. He still walks along the Oregon beaches where they often held hands.
