Our downstairs neighbor, Falls Church Arts, will feature watercolors from an exhibition entitled “East Meets West” from August 19 through September 23. It is a combined show with the Sumi-e Society of Washington, DC, a non-profit educational organization founded in 1963 by Motoi Oi. Sumi-e Society’s entries will feature works created with brush and ink on paper. Their mission is to foster and encourage an appreciation of East Asian brush painting techniques through publications, workshops, lectures and exhibitions, to serve as a cultural bridge between East and West, and to furnish information to all who wish to learn about this art.
