A Monthly Gathering for Caregivers

with Aging & Dementia Expert Anya Parpura, MD, PhD

Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.

At The Kensington Falls Church, we understand the unique challenges of caregiving for someone with memory loss. As cognitive decline progresses, it’s easy to feel frustrated and confused as their needs and communication patterns change.

Join Dr. Anya, Aging & Dementia Expert, MD, PhD for our monthly, interactive discussion group: Maximizing Quality Time and Engagement With Your Loved One. Learn ways to best spend quality time with your loved one and techniques to maximize engagement throughout their memory loss journey.

Sharing your caregiving experience not only relieves stress, but also provides you with solutions. This group is designed to help you understand and deal with both sides of caregiving: providing and receiving it.

Caregiving takes many forms and will often lead to lifestyle changes and added stress and feelings of burden each day. Sharing these experiences with others going through similar journeys can relieve stress and provide you with the tools to help you navigate the future. Please join Dr. Anya, an expert in aging and dementia as she leads our program and shares information, advice and support in a welcoming, private setting.

Aleksandra (Anya) Parpura, MD, PhD, an expert in aging and dementia, will lead our Caregiver Connect program. Dr. Anya is the president of Aging Perspectives, Inc., the Scientific Review Officer for variety of biomedical programs, an adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America, and a faculty member at the Washington School of Psychiatry. Dr. Parpura brings to us vast knowledge, helpful tips and a kind heart.
