On February 16th, we welcomed LaToya Brown, Director of Assisted Living to our Kensington Family. Thursday, March 29th from 6:30-8pm, we will be hosting a welcome reception for her, so all residents and family members are invited to attend. Latoya joined us on February 16th and we are thrilled to have her on the team and look forward to working with her to deliver exceptional care and services throughout the community.
Latoya discovered her passion for helping others in the 1980’s, when she saw her stepmother, an RN, dressed in the traditional crisp, white uniform and hat, coming home from working at the hospital. She talked to young Latoya about the importance of giving back to those in need, and that you never know the lives you can touch. This early inspiration gave Latoya her purpose in life.
Latoya has a wealth of experience in the industry, working as a certified nursing assistant in home health, hospice, skilled nursing, and assisted living settings. She then became a Life Enrichment Manager and then a Memory Care Coordinator, and later, an Assisted Living Coordinator. Somehow Latoya also manages to enjoy a wonderful variety of hobbies:
- international traveling
- visiting amusement parks
- horseback riding
- salsa dancing
