African Art Museum Outing

Our Connections neighborhood headed to DC this April for a special outing to the National Museum of African Art! The ladies traveled to the art museum and were assisted by museum staff though an interactive tour. While residents had time to wander and explore, they also participated in group activities such as interpreting art pieces, discussing the meaning behind symbolic costumes and clothing, and even had the opportunity to try on a culturally significant hats. The fun outing gave residents a chance to explore new cultures and understandings of the world right in the center of our city.
