Working at The Kensington Falls Church means you can work toward improving your future as well as contribute to the future of our residents.
The U.S. Census Bureau recently found the United States will experience significant growth in its elderly population over the next few decades. They estimate that this older demographic will increase from 43.1 million in 2012 to 83.7 million by 2050—almost doubling.
This growing number means the need for skilled caregivers will continue to be in great demand for many years.
Career-building at The Kensington Falls Church
As part of our drive to find new team members, Kensington Falls Church was proud to present a career-building event hosted by Dr. James Rouse, Career Coach, on Oct. 4th.
Dr. Rouse is a highly successful entrepreneur who founded four companies and has consulted for some of the biggest corporations in America, like Google. His inspirational methods have helped leaders and young professionals to become more successful and realize their career potential.
Participants in the Zoom event enjoyed learning many new things about how a healthy work environment helps cultivate a meaningful career that is both satisfying and impactful.
Kyle Frank, an Assisted Living Supervisor at The Kensington Falls Church, began his career as a care partner within Memory Care in 2019. During the height of COVID-19, Kyle was promoted to supervisor and rose to the many challenges of the pandemic with flying colors.
Since then, he has recently transferred to the assisted living dept., where his leadership skills have grown even more. “My residents have become a lot like friends and family to me,” Kyle says, “as I have built close working relationships with them.”
Kyle also looks upon many of our residents as role models, saying they continue to “amaze and inspire” through their years of experience and knowledge.
The core values of Kensington Senior Living
When new members join our team, all Kensington team members get a first-hand look at the core values of our communities and what they mean to our residents.
The Kensington Senior Living’s core values include:
- Love for our seniors
- Respect for each other
- A positive spirit to serve
- And a passion for excellence
At the event was The Kensington White Plains’ Team Member, Flona Patten, who has been one of our Senior Lead Care Partners (CNA) since 2013. She often remarks on how she embodies these core values in her everyday activities.
As a result, Flona quickly rose from her entry position as a Care Partner to becoming a Lead Care Partner in less than a year.
Fiona put it best: “Live the values of The Kensington,” she says, “and your job will be well done here.”

The benefits of a career in senior living
Many job seekers think of a “real job” as working in a cubicle or office environment.
But working in an assisted living community can provide tangible experiences directly affecting your well-being and quality of life along with our residents.
You’ll also:
- Learn accuracy and attention to detail skills while completing assigned tasks with established care policies and procedures.
- Help develop time management skills as you work through different residents’ schedules.
- Improve teamwork and communication skills with a diverse group of team members, residents, and families.
- Become familiar with social services and different aspects of medical fields, which can be utilized in these developing industries.
But the most significant benefit to a career in senior living involves the connections you can make with people.
Most jobs don’t provide the sort of close human contact you can find in senior living communities. Many team members consider their workplace to be a second home.
The Kensington Promise
One of the main reasons Kensington Senior Living communities have achieved success is the adherence to Our Promise: to love and care for residents as we do our own families.
Our team members are driven and inspired by Our Promise – fueling all decisions we make each day.
Through this commitment, many members of our team find greater meaning and a sense of purpose in their daily routines.
Beyond the assurances and peace of mind that families can experience by seeing their loved ones cared for so well, the Kensington Promise enables all of us to make a real difference in the lives of others.
